As part of its annual Four Peaks For Teachers program, the brewery will hand out kits full of school supplies to teachers in 19 cities across Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico.
PHOENIX, AZ – Four Peaks Brewing Co., Arizona’s largest brewery, will donate school supplies to 10,000 teachers in August as part of Four Peaks For Teachers, a program created to reduce the amount of money teachers spend on supplies for their classrooms each year. The brewery will begin giving away kits full of supplies to teachers that have reserved a kit at fourpeaksforteachers.com beginning Monday, August 3.
Four Peaks For Teachers was created to help reduce the financial burden on teachers in the Southwest, many of whom spend hundreds of dollars on school supplies each year without reimbursement. Using direct donations and funds raised through beer sales, Four Peaks purchases the supplies teachers need most, from scissors and staplers to pencils and paper, and builds kits to hand out for free in multiple cities and states. This year, the brewery will give away 10,000 kits to teachers in Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.
“It’s humbling to see how Four Peaks For Teachers has grown to impact more and more teachers over the years,” says Four Peaks co-founder Jim Scussel, who created Four Peaks For Teachers in 2011. “But it’s also frustrating that the financial burden on teachers only keeps growing. Teachers have one of the toughest and most important jobs in the country, and it’s hard to believe they’re asked to do that job without the supplies they need. They need support now more than ever. ”
For this year’s program, Four Peaks will give away more than 8,000 school supply kits in Arizona. The brewery will be distributing 300 of these kits to teachers in Kingman at the following date, time, and location:
Friday, August 14
Smith’s Food & Drug (3490 Stockton Hill Rd. in Kingman)
Representatives from Four Peaks will be available for interviews at the event.
