FORT MOHAVE—A brush fire that started Saturday afternoon is now 100 percent contained, said Fire Marshal Don Gibson.
The Gemini Fire slowly burned through 43 acres of dry brush and salt cedars in a ravine behind residential homes off Gardena and Downey in Fort Mohave. No homes were ever threatened during the fire.
Gibson said the fire has been deemed human caused, however, would not disclose yet how the fire itself was ignited.
Multiple local agencies assisted in the brush fire and a crew from Kingman Bureau of Land Management responded to help with hotspots.
Gibson urged residents to steer clear of the burned area for the next couple of weeks due to hot spots and embers underneath the soil. Crews will continue to monitor the burn scene for the next couple of weeks.
