The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is continuing our investigation of a bomb threat that occurred at Black Mountain Elementary School in Golden Valley. At approximately 12:32 PM, our Communication Center received a call from a faculty member, who stated a student claimed that a bomb was in a backpack in a classroom. The classroom was immediately evacuated and the reporting party called 911. Deputies began responding immediately and issued the orders to evacuate the remaining students and staff. BNSF Police Department K9 Detectives responded, and the dog gave no alerts to a threat in the area that was described. Kingman Police Department Explosive Ordinance Detail (EOD) arrived shortly after and confirmed that no immediate threat was detected. At approximately 1:55 PM, the evacuation was lifted and students began returning to their classrooms. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate the threats made in this incident.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a bomb threat at a local school. Black Mountain Elementary School in Golden Valley is currently being evacuated. At approximately 12:32 PM, our Communication Center received the call and deputies began responding immediately and issued the orders to evacuate the students and staff.
