KINGMAN—A Mohave County Jail officer is being hailed a hero after administering life saving procedures on an inmate.

William Quinn, 34, was found hanging in his jail cell on March 4 shortly after 3 p.m., said his mom, Jenna.

“I want to thank the person who saved my son from death,” she said. “He was dead and the officer worked on him until medical could arrive.”

Quinn is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He was arrested on a failure to appear last week and was set to be released on probation in the following weeks.

The identity of the guard has not been publicly identified. An email to Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sue Callahan was not immediately returned.

We will update this story when we get additional information.
