On November 17, 2019, Benjie Junior Nunez, 34, and Jonathan Arthur Wallace, 28, were involved in a homicide where one man was fatally shot and his wife was injured.
The investigation revealed that Benjie Nunez had arranged to meet and fight Kevin Castro Hurtado, 24, in the Family Dollar store parking lot. Castro Hurtado reportedly left in his vehicle because Nunez was not there. However, Nunez (driver) and Jonathan Wallace, who were both armed, followed him in a vehicle after he left the parking lot. Kevin Castro Hurtado was fatally shot while driving in his vehicle in the area of Marina Boulevard and Clearwater Drive. Castro Hurtado’s 20-year-old wife suffered a grazed bullet wound to her leg. The two other male passengers in Castro Hurtado’s vehicle were not injured.
Later that morning, Nunez came to the Bullhead City Police Department lobby and turned himself in. Nunez is currently at the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, AZ facing first degree murder charges.
Wallace was booked into the Montgomery, TN County Jail and awaits extradition to Arizona.
