Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have made a second arrest in relation to a homicide investigation that began in December 2022. On Monday (8/7), Detectives charged Bryan Keith Gibson, 52 of Yucca, with 1st Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Murder, and Abandonment of a Body, all felonies. Gibson is currently incarcerated at the Adult Detention Facility for unrelated charges.

The investigation began when a set of human remains was located in a remote desert area near Alamo Rd. and Boriana Mine Rd. in Yucca. The remains were positively identified on July 11, 2023 as Brandon Parlanti, 50 of Kingman. Parlanti’s remains were initially found amongst a large pile of debris wrapped in a tarp, and the incident was labelled and is being investigated as a homicide.

The first suspect, identified as Shannon Allen Powell, 29, of Yucca, was arrested on August 2nd and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Abandonment of a Body, both felonies.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently investigating a suspected homicide. On Sunday (12/4) at 11:36 AM, Deputies responded to a call of human remains located in a remote desert area in Yucca near Alamo Rd. and Boriana Mine Rd. The reporting party advised he had been out riding his side-by-side in the desert when he located the remains.

Deputies arrived on scene and observed a large pile of debris. Upon closer inspection, Deputies located the remains amongst the debris wrapped in a tarp. The remains appeared to be those of an adult male, but identification was not able to be made. The deceased was transferred into the custody of the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office to conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death and potential identification.
