Homicide Update

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are continuing their investigation into a homicide that occurred in Kingman on Sunday (3/28). At approximately 1:10 PM, Deputies responded to a residence in the 3600 block of Butler Ave. and located a deceased male subject, identified as Jesus Juan Martinez, 58 of Kingman, inside the home. Suspicious circumstances were observed and Detectives were called to investigate the scene.

The victim’s car, a 2009 KIA sedan, was missing from the victim’s home and an Attempt to Locate was issued for the vehicle. An autopsy was conducted by the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, which concluded that Martinez died of multiple injuries consistent with being assaulted. On Tuesday (3/30) at approximately 10:51 AM, Detectives with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, located the vehicle in Austin, Texas. The vehicle was occupied by Anthony Charles Hall, 35 of Kingman.

Hall was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Hall was detained and taken into custody and will be extradited back to Mohave County to face charges of 2nd Degree Murder, and Theft of Means of Transportation, both felonies. Hall was previously arrested for Aggravated Assault per Domestic Violence during an incident with Martinez in January of this year. This investigation is ongoing.
