Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested Christopher Robin Kacos, 33 of Kingman, for felony 2nd Degree Murder. On Monday (5/4) at approximately 2:41 AM, deputies were called to a residence in the 900 block of John Norman Ln. in Kingman in reference to an assault. A female victim alleged that she was assaulted when she confronted a neighbor about their loud music. The victim claimed she approached the neighbor’s home and a male subject, identified as Christopher Dayton Young, 30 of Kingman, answered the door. The female voiced her concerns about the loud music and Young became aggressive and started hitting her in the head. Deputies responded to the residence and made contact with Kacos, the homeowner, who advised Young told him about the assault. Kacos advised Young then ran into the desert area near the home. Deputies continued to search the area with no results.
At approximately 4:47 AM, dispatch received several calls of gunshots heard in the area of the earlier assault and responded back to Kacos’s residence. Deputies arrived on scene and observed Young deceased in the roadway with three gunshot wounds. Deputies observed Kacos on the property and he was detained. A shotgun and three spent shotgun shells were located near Young’s body. Further investigations revealed a total of four rounds had been fired from the shotgun and Young had been struck by the rounds in the head, face, and back. Kacos admitted his involvement in the shooting and was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. Interviews with Kacos revealed he and Young had been involved in a domestic relationship and Young had been living at the residence for approximately one month. This investigation is ongoing.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating a weapons offense that resulted in the death of a Kingman man. On Monday (5/4) at approximately 4:47 AM, Deputies responded to a residence in the 900 block of John Norman Ln. for multiple reports of gunshots in the area. Deputies arrived on scene and observed a male subject deceased in the roadway with three gunshot wounds to the head, neck, and face. Deputies observed Christopher Robin Kacos, 33 of Kingman, on the property and he was detained. A shotgun and three spent shotgun shells were located near the victim’s body. Kacos admitted his involvement in the shooting and was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility for felony 2nd Degree Murder. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. This investigation is ongoing.
