FORT MOHAVE–Valley View Medical Center’s Auxiliary will be hosting a fall Meat Bingo event this Friday, Oct. 12 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Suddenlink Center, 2380 Suddenlink Way in Bullhead City.

A spring Meat Bingo event is planned under the direction of We Care Cancer.

“I’ve always attended these and saw that it was a great local fundraiser,” said VVMC Auxiliary coordinator Bonnie O’Shell. “We are very excited to continue to help our community.”

O’Shell said once the volunteers began promoting the event, it began to grow by “leaps and bounds”.

“We have a lot of good silent auction items, a dessert auction, wine table, mock-tails, 50/50 drawings, live entertainment and even a magician.” she said.

The emcee of the night will be local attorney William “Bill” Condray.

Attendees will try their hand at card bingo to win a package of meat. Yes meat! O’Shell said a large portion of the meat being handed out to winners will come from cattle ranchers from Kingman.

“The winners will get some pretty fresh cuts of meat,” she said. “The other meats are coming from local stores.”

The fundraiser will benefit Operation Cover Up, a program under the direction of Valley View Medical Center Auxiliary.

“Operation Cover Up provides layette bags to mother’s who come in to the hospital for delivery and may not have the essential items needed,” explained O’Shell. “The hospital auxiliary also helps when babies under the care of Child Protective Services are treated or born in our hospital. It is a great cause and our volunteers do such a wonderful job putting the bags together.”

Tickets for the event are $15 each in advance; $20 at the door or $100 for a table of 8. Dinner is included with ticket price and will be catered by D’Angelos. Entertainment will be provided by Greg Cardino, of Daytona, Florida and Mohave High School choir group.
