Whitewater Dr. House Fire
On April 29, 2021, at approximately 9:00 a.m., our crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of Whitewater Dr. for a reported structure fire. Engine 711 arrived first on the scene, reporting a fully involved double wide mobile with two exposures, which included a pickup truck and an RV in the front yard. The crew quickly confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the home but learned that two of the occupant’s dogs may still be inside the structure. Battalion Chief McCabe arrived on the scene, assuming command directing all other incoming units. Crews worked aggressively attacking the fire; after a short battle with the blaze, the fire was called under control, and the overhaul process began.
Our CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) assisted firefighters through the overhaul process, providing water and additional air tanks as needed. A request for the Red Cross was made to assist the homeowners as the home and vehicles were severely damaged by the fire. Fire investigators arrived to begin their investigation, sadly discovering the owner’s two dogs had perished during the incident. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of this fire remains under investigation at this time.
