Lake Havasu City, AZ (October 3, 2019) –Havasu Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the additions of neurosurgeon Richard J. Teff, MD and general surgeon James Tseng, M.D., to its medical staff.
Dr. Teff has vast experience treating patients for brain and spine aliments using advanced surgical procedures. Dr. Teff has been practicing in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and recognized the need to bring care to the citizens of the Colorado River area. Alleviating neck and back pain are his primary focus along with being a part of the Level III Trauma team at Havasu Regional Medical Center to care for patients with traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Teff will also treat brain tumors, strokes and peripheral nerve damage.
“I chose Havasu Regional Medical Center because there is a significant need for spine and trauma care in this area and I can help,” said Dr. Teff. “I’m able to lend my expertise to patients in their critical time of need and provide the relief they are looking for while staying close to home.”
Dr. Teff completed his medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and his residency at University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. The other new surgeon in the Havasu Regional Medical Center operating room, Dr. Tseng, specializes in general surgery, including upper & lower endoscopy, to treat patients using micro- and traditional surgery as well as minimally invasive methods such as laparoscopy. Dr. Tseng can help patients with surgical needs related to hernias, cancer, trauma, and the digestive tract. He also has an interest in wounds, complex or chronic.
“Havasu Regional Medical Center has a strong trauma and general surgery program,” said Dr. Tseng. “Joining this medical staff allows me to provide high-quality care locally so patients can stay close to their family and friends in Mohave County for treatment.”
Dr. Tseng obtained his medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and continued with his general surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center. He went on to complete a microsurgery fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.
