The Bullhead City Police Department was among numerous other law enforcement & fire/EMS agencies from throughout Arizona and Nevada to participate in a two-day Public Safety Integration training instructed by *ICSAVE at the Anderson Fieldhouse this week.
Ongoing training and exercises like this is essential to prepare first responders in the event of a large-scale critical incident. The class focuses on how law enforcement and fire/EMS can work together in order to provide immediate response during a violent event.
A special thanks to the outstanding instructors with *ICSAVE (Integrated Community Solutions to Active Violence Events ), which is a nonprofit made up of state public safety personnel, including the Bullhead City Police Department, Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District , Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC) and Tristate Careflight Las Vegas/Bullhead (Air Methods).
For more information, go to ICSAVE.org.
The training was sponsored by Air Methods, WARMC and Valley View Medical Center.
Thanks also to the Colorado River High School District for providing the training facility. Aircraft for the multi-agency training was provided by Arizona DPS Air Rescue, Air Methods and Classic Air Medical. Axon provided body worn cameras and drones to document and critique the training. And, the Aquarius Hotel and Casino provided rooms to the out of town instructors.
Special mention to the student actors from MCC and Mohave High who played the victims, adding to the intensity of the training scenarios. Their realistic makeup was applied by Northland Pioneer College cosmetology program.
