Following a similar move by the Clark County Commission, on Tuesday night the Bullhead City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement for a second bridge across the Colorado River. McCormick Construction will build an extension west from the Bullhead Parkway to the river, with a bid accepted for around 3.2-million dollars.
The vote follows what was thought to be a move condemning the long awaited project, when the Laughlin Town Advisory Board chose to pull its support for any construction concerning the bridge.
The entire bridge project – including road extensions on both sides – is estimated to cost just over 53-million dollars, with 21-million coming from federal transportation money.  Clark County’s “Fuel Indexing” tax will make up the majority share of the funding, while the City of Bullhead City will invest $4.5-million.
