Mohave County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the death of a Mohave County Adult Detention Facility
inmate. On Tuesday (8/13) at approximately 6:24 AM, a Detention Officer was alerted to an unresponsive
inmate. The officer called for medical assistance and immediately initiated CPR on the inmate. Detention
Facility Medical Staff responded and took over life-saving efforts. The inmate could not be revived and was
ultimately pronounced deceased. The inmate has been identified as Kim Maurice Monahan, 57 of Bullhead
City. The initial cause of death was determined by the Medical Examiners Office to be natural causes and
the investigation this far shows no reason to suspect foul play. This investigation is ongoing.
