Tuesday (5/26) afternoon, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call for help from a hiker who had fallen and was injured near Meadview. He was visiting from out of state and was hiking towards the Grand Canyon by himself with no supplies when he had reportedly fallen 90 feet and had injured his leg. Search and Rescue was activated, along with the Kingman DPS Ranger helicopter and began a search of the area for him. He was quickly located and the Kingman DPS Ranger helicopter landed and transported him to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for medical evaluation. Great job by everyone involved! Search and Rescue wants to remind everyone to never hike alone and bring plenty of supplies and water during your outdoor adventures!
