AMES WILLIAM STAMPER

James William Stamper, age 77, a 13-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was born August 17, 1940 in Wilmington, Calif.

James was a retired Marine clerk with the ILWU at Los Angeles Harbor for 46 years. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed fishing, barbecuing and grilling, boating, playing cribbage, smoking cigars and listening to jazz and blues. He loved spending time with friends and family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Richard Stamper; and siblings, Evelyn, Richard and Robert Stamper.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Stamper; three sons, Michael (Karie) Stamper of Bullhead City, Sean (Helen) Stamper of Torrance, Calif. and Chris (Julie) Stamper of Hutto, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held for James at 11 a.m. Nevada time on Saturday, March 10, at St. John the Baptist Church, 3055 El Mirage Way, Laughlin, NV. Father Charlie will be officiating.
