Bulldog Disposal and Recycling started long before its name. In 1987 Ken Watkins father and mother started Bear Recycling with Ken and his wife Darcy moving to Kingman in 1988 and becoming part owners.

Ken and Darcy learned a lot about the business and decided in 1990 to start Dumpster Diving Recycling Services. They started with themselves and their 6 children and soon needed to add 3 additional employees. The company did well and was growing more than planned or expected. As the company evolved and grew changes needed to be made and Bulldog Disposal and Recycling emerged in 2004.

Since starting Bulldog Disposal and Recycling the company expanded with dumpsters into the Industrial Park in Kingman and later recycling in Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City.  They remain a family owned business with Jeramiah Divis (Ken and Darcy’s son-in-law) becoming CEO in 2011 and some of his family members working with the company as well. They currently have 45 employees.

Ken stated one of the challenges they are facing is similar to many of your companies – employee retention. Many of the jobs are entry level and Bulldog Disposal and Recycling is a great starting place for employees to get work experience before moving onto college. The employees seem to enjoy working at Bulldog Disposal and Recycling feel they are all part of a family.

It is companies like Bulldog Disposal and Recycling that make Mohave County strong.
