K-9 “Rocky helps in Drug Bust

Over the past several months, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs at a residence in the 1600 block of Avalon Avenue.

On February 11, 2020, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team, with the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit, Criminal Investigations Unit, and the Street Crimes Unit, served a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Avalon Avenue.  During the search, Detectives along with the assistance of the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s newest K-9 “Rocky,” located a usable amount of methamphetamine, a usable amount of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, in addition to several firearms.

As a result of the investigation, 59-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Craig Stuart, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Stuart is being held on a $5,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Grant Foley, a 70-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm during a drug offense. Foley is being held on a $10,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Jerry Soyland, a 63-year-old Parker resident, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Soyland was released on a $1,500 bond after his initial court appearance.

Teresa Mitchell, a 49-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Mitchell is being held on a $2,500 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
