Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Dakota Luke Atwood, 31 of Kingman, and Carrie Mae Dowling, 35 of Kingman. On Wednesday (1/23) at approximately 10:45 AM, deputies responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Highway 66, to assist Department of Corrections (DOC) Parole Officers with a compliance check. During the check, Parole Officers located a trailer on the property, and made contact with a male and female subject located inside, later identified as Atwood and Dowling. During the search of the trailer, Parole Officers informed deputies that methamphetamine had been located. Deputies observed a purse on the floor of the trailer and could clearly see a baggie containing a white crystalline substance on top of the purse, which tested positive for 0.7 grams of methamphetamine. A further search of the purse revealed 3.9 grams of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Both Atwood and Dowling denied knowing the drugs were inside the purse.
Dakota Luke Atwood and Carrie Mae Dowling were both arrested for Dangerous Drug Possession, Narcotic Drug Possession, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession, all felonies. Both subjects were arrested and booked into Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
