Update 1/23/2024 Kingman PD Officer-Involved Shooting Update

Following the investigation conducted by Lake Havasu City Police Department detectives of the officer-involved shooting that occurred in Kingman on December 29, 2023, Sergeant Kenneth Morris has been released back to full duty.

The suspect involved in the incident, 39-year-old Kingman resident Andrew Romero, has been released from Sunrise Hospital and was subsequently arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on a felony warrant for aggravated assault on a police officer. He is awaiting extradition at the Clark County Detention Center.

 

Lake Havasu City Police Department Detectives continue to investigate the officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Kingman, Arizona, on December 29, 2023. The Kingman Police Officer involved in the shooting has been identified as Sergeant Kenneth Morris. Sergeant Morris has been a police officer for nine years with the Kingman Police Department. Sergeant Morris will remain on routine administrative leave pending the investigation.

The suspect involved in the incident, identified as 39-year-old Kingman resident Andrew Romero, is still being treated at Sunrise Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

This investigation is still ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
