Since May of 2021, with 140 members, KYP has hosted 11 events, which have included organized social events in collaboration and support from District 1 Supervisor Lingenfelter, Mohave County Parks, City of Kingman Parks and Recreation, Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, and other local partners. On average, about 15 people attend each of the activities but can range to as high as 30 attendees. Events included:
● Opening Social at the Powerhouse at the Kingman Visitor’s Center
● Kickball at Centennial Park
● Tie-Dye in the Hualapai Mountains
● Outdoor Movie Night at Metcalfe Park
● Bingo Night at Beale Celebrations
● Holiday Cookie Kick-Off at 66 Marketplace
● Friends of the Mohave County Animal Shelter Volunteer Day
Starting in December KYP shifted efforts from independently organized social events, to collaborative events with local businesses. The intention of this shift is to introduce young professionals to the many diverse classes and activities available in Kingman, while also giving back to the local economy. KYP fundraises to help bring the cost down for participants to $10-15 per event, making them more accessible to a wider range of young professionals.
For the coming months, KYP has the following activities tentatively scheduled:
● April 24 – Paint and Sip at The Cellar Door Wine Bar (Social)
● April/May – Resume Revamp/Interview Tips (Professional Development Series)
