Summer is over. Swimming lessons at the Bullhead City Pool are over. For the 19 th year in a row, the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club has issued a check to the City of Bullhead City to pay for swim lessons. The daily four swim sessions, are offered each summer by the City of Bullhead City. Kiwanis pays for children in the Mommy and Me Program, and Level One and Two beginner classes. Participating children range from 3-10 years old. For this past summer, 547 children received free swim lessons.

This year the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club wrote that check to the City for $10, 940.00. “The Kiwanis Club makes this annual community commitment because drowning is the leading cause of injury death for children ages one to five years old” said Karla Brady Project Coordinator. “We want children to know how to swim and get out of water safety.” This partnership of the Kiwanis Club and Bullhead City has trained 7,164 children on how to swim over the 19 year program. The club has paid Bullhead City $143,786 for those swim lessons.
The Bullhead City Kiwanis Club also is supported by our Annual Community Partners. This Sponsorship Program includes: Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, Ron’s Tire Pros, MattressLand & Furniture, Findlay Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Used Care Center, Kids Little Smiles, and Mohave Resort Golf Club and Huukan Golf Club, Rim Country Rock & Yard, and Wickersham Insurance. The Kiwanis media partners are Murphy Broadcasting, TV 2, Radio Central and News West.
