Kingman, Arizona, December 11, 2019 – On Friday, December 6, 2019, the Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) Cancer Center hosted a luncheon for their patients.

Each patient and a guest of their choice was treated to a holiday meal catered by the KRMC café. This year’s was the third holiday luncheon the Cancer Center has held for patients and families.

Nurses, physicians, and staff all attended to honor the patients and celebrate the day.

Diane Cox, Chief Radiation Therapist, and Joe Stevens, Oncology Patient Advocate, took the lead in organizing the event. Cox received RSVP responses from about 120 people and ordered holiday fare for the crowd. “To fill their bellies and see them smile means so much in that moment,” said Cox.

Volunteers helped set up and decorate the event, and Cancer Center staff purchased items for several raffle baskets with their own money. Each attendee got a raffle ticket at the door.

Children from Little Minnows Learning Center attended the luncheon to sing Christmas Carols as the guests sang along.

“This can be a really difficult time of year for our patients,” said the Cancer Center’s Interim Director, Brian Brady. “We wanted to do something that could bring us all together and create some joy this season.”
