Kingman, Arizona, May 14, 2020 – Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) announced today that it will reopen the Del. E. Webb Wellness Center on Friday, May 15 at 5:00 a.m. The Wellness Center has been closed to the public since March 19 to comply with local, state, and national COVID-19 social distancing guidelines and shut-down orders.

Upon opening, the Wellness Center will resume its normal business hours:

Monday – Friday, 5:00 am – 9:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm

On Tuesday, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced gyms, spas, and swimming pools statewide will be allowed to reopen on Friday, May 15.

According to KRMC Wellness Center Director, Alisa Yarborough, the center will strictly follow state and federal guidance to protect against the spread of COVID-19 in a gym setting.

“We have fully implemented all recommended precautions by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control [CDC] to prepare for reopening,” she said.

With these precautions, the wellness center will not be offering child care services at this time.  Additionally, the center will not conduct any group exercise classes; they will continue to offer those classes online.

However, members can again access the center’s state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment and heated indoor swimming pool.

The Wellness Center will also limit occupancy in gym areas, increase the distance between gym equipment, and adhere to rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

“Wellness Center employees are required to wear a mask, and we’ll screen all customers and staff for COVID-19 symptoms when they enter the building,” said Yarborough.

Additionally, the Wellness Center will require all gym members to comply with social distancing guidelines as outlined in the ADHS Guidance for Gyms and Fitness Providers (see at https://azgovernor.gov/sites/default/files/guidance_for_gyms_fitness_providers.pdf).
