Lake Havasu City is launching a downtown landscape improvement project designed to enhance the appearance, safety, and long-term maintenance of the Main Street corridor. This phase of the project includes planting six new Washingtonian palm trees in locations where trees do not currently exist, along with trimming and skinning existing palm trees throughout the downtown area.

These improvements support ongoing efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors. Work will begin at the north end of McCulloch Boulevard and continue south through the corridor. The new palm trees are being selected to complement and maintain the existing downtown landscape design. No trees are being removed as part of this project.

“Planting new Washingtonian palms helps create a cleaner, more cohesive downtown corridor while supporting the long-term appearance and maintenance of the area,” said Parks Superintendent Guy Reynolds. “These improvements are intended to enhance the overall experience for residents and visitors while preserving the character of downtown.”

City crews will work to minimize impacts to the public during construction activities. Temporary work zones and limited area closures may occur as needed throughout installation. Additional project updates, including scheduling and any traffic impacts, will be shared as work progresses.

Lake Havasu City recognizes the importance of the Memorial Tree and Bench Program and remains committed to preserving those meaningful tributes while supporting the long-term health, appearance, and sustainability of the downtown landscape.
