Lake Havasu City continues making progress on essential infrastructure improvements along Acoma Boulevard. These efforts support ongoing roadway rehabilitation and paving operations while maintaining two lanes of traffic whenever possible. To ensure the safety of construction crews and the traveling public, temporary lane shifts and overnight closures are necessary.
Beginning next Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, 2026, overnight to early morning closures and detours will be implemented in the following segments:
July 20–21
• Swanson Avenue to Smoketree Avenue, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for milling operations.
July 21–22
• Van Vilet Lane to Mesquite Avenue, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for paving operations.
July 22–23
• Mesquite Avenue to Querio Drive, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., for paving operations.
July 23–24
• Smoketree Avenue to Mesquite Avenue, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., for paving operations.
Once these segments are complete, work will continue along Acoma Boulevard from Smoketree Avenue to State Route 95 at Lake Havasu Avenue. The project also includes adjustments to underground utilities. As this is a rolling operation, motorists may experience periodic delays throughout the construction zone. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow all posted traffic control devices.
Lake Havasu City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements enhance roadway safety and strengthen the City’s infrastructure. For additional information and to view detour maps, please visit the City’s website at https://www.lhcaz.gov/public-works/street-projects.
