LAKE HAVASU CITY–The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is extending the temporary restrictions for the Rock House Recreation Area, visitor center and boat launch until Aug. 6. The recreation area is scheduled to reopen Aug. 7.

The extension is needed to ensure the paving project is completed properly and safely.  The extra time will allow the parking lot sealer to properly cure in the extreme heat.

The parking lot, boat launch, and facilities will remain closed while construction is completed.

There are other nearby boat launches on the Lower Colorado River available to the public for a fee at Buckskin Mountain State Park and River Island State Park, in addition to other resorts along the river.

The Rock House Recreation Area is located approximately 13 miles east of Parker, Arizona on Parker Dam Road along the Lower Colorado River in the Parker Strip Recreation Area.
