Laughlin, NV – The Laughlin Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Mohave Valley Daily News, is proud to announce the launch of The Best Dam Competition, a three-month public-voted culinary and cocktail contest honoring the 75th Anniversary of Davis Dam.
From October 1 through December 31, 2025, restaurants, bars, and cafés throughout the Colorado River Valley will showcase dam-inspired entries for the community and visitors to enjoy. The competition features four major categories: Best Dam Dish, Best Dam Drink, Best Dam Atmosphere, and Best Dam Fan Favorite. Within these, participants will compete for titles such as Best Dam Appetizer, Best Dam Cocktail, Best Dam View, and more.
Voting is simple and community-driven. Guests can cast their ballots by scanning official QR codes placed inside each participating business, ensuring that votes are made on-site and encouraging exploration of local establishments while celebrating regional creativity.
“Davis Dam has been a cornerstone of our community for 75 years,” said Carrie Larson, Executive Director of the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. “This competition is a way to honor that history while bringing people together to share meals, raise a glass, and celebrate the unique spirit of our river communities.”
Winners will be announced at a special celebration on January 8, 2026, and will receive trophies, digital award badges, and recognition in Chamber promotions and media. The Best Dam Competition is presented in partnership with Mohave Valley Daily News, the official Dam Grand Sponsor, and supported by local category and subcategory sponsors.
