Laughlin Constable Inauguration

Constable Jordan Ross and most of his staff were sworn into another four-year term on Tuesday the 3rd in a ceremony in the Laughlin Regional Civic Center.

Opened by Constable’s Inspector Dwain Bowen who served as Master of Ceremonies, the mid-morning event began with an Invocation by Father Charlie Urnick of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Inspector owen.


Constable Ross was sworn in by Claudia Lambert, Office Administrator and Notary Public for the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. After being sworn in, the Constable then swore in Inspector Bowen and six Deputy Constables – Lt. Richard Henry, who runs their Academy and leads the rest of the staff in Las Vegas, Training Supervisor Sgt. John Kern who also trains the State University Police in Southern Nevada, Complex Operations Supervisor and Gulf War military police veteran Sgt. Craig Dahlheimer, Deputy Leo Bletnitsky, a computer forensic expert, Deputy Mark Strickland who was recently awarded the Medal of Valor for his bravery and gunshot injuries during the Highway 91 shooting, and the newest staff member, Deputy Mike Wilson, Principal at Mesquite High School, and former Emergency Management Director for the Clark County School District who is taking on responsibility for community relations. During his comments, the Constable took time to introduce his staff pointing out their numerous backgrounds and talents.

Assistant Constable Michael McDonald, the former Mayor Pro Tem of Las Vegas, and former Chair of the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority, Constable’s Inspector Arnie Wetzstein, and Deputy Constable’s Clerk Tiffani Langley were sworn in later that afternoon. Chief Constable’s Clerk Cristy Langley, High Volume Supervisor Sgt. Thomas Jeeves, and Deputy Anthony Jeeves will be sworn in next week.
