BULLHEAD CITY–The community is invited to join the Bullhead City Police Department, local fire departments and the Mohave County Search and Rescue for the Law Enforcement Torch Run Reception Breakfast on Sunday, April 22 from 7 a.m to 9 a.m. at Community Park, 1241 Highway 95 in Bullhead City.
“This event is to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Arizona and honoring our local special needs community members,” said Bullhead City Police Department’s Community Services Officer Lorrie Duggins.
Law enforcement personnel will arrive at Community Park by kayak–as part of the Desert River Kayak Fundraiser–with the “Flame of Hope”. Duggins said around 9 a.m. Sunday, the torch will depart Community Park and continue through Bullhead City, being carried by police personnel to various “handoff” stations within the city limits.
The torch will then be handed off to troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety at the city/county lines on Highway 95. They will continue the journey throughout the nation, said Duggins.
“We value the support of this community and give special thanks to Del Taco for the breakfast rollers, DJ Loke and Desert River Kayak for facilitating the kayak portion,” said Dugging.
