LAKE HAVASU CITY–Winter break is around the corner and that means no school, but don’t worry, Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation have you covered.
The department is offering a variety of activities fun for all ages. Here are some of the programs being offered during holiday break:
Winter Break Camp: Camp is for children attending K-6th grade. Participants rotate through supervised group activities that are both fun and engaging in nature in addition to scheduled field trips. Camp is held at Smoketree Elementary School from December 26 through December 28; and January 2 through January 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $40 per week for first child and $31 per week for each additional child. Lunch is not included. Financial assistance is available to those families that qualify. Registration is currently being accepted at the Aquatic Center and program registration is limited.
Third-Sixth Grade Basketball: Registration is filling up for our upcoming basketball season. Boys and girls in grades 3rd through 6th grade interested in learning the fundamentals of the game are invited to participate. This upcoming season is January 14 through March 1, with games starting January 25. Cost is $52.00 per participant. Register today to give your player the chance to participate in a sport that fosters teamwork and self-discipline.
Buddy’s Cookie Crew Party: Children ages 4 through 10 are invited to decorate holiday cookies and play in an air bounce house on December 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Aquatic/Community Center. Registration is $5.00 and pre-registration is required no later than December 18.
Tennis: Register your child for a chance to learn and play a centuries old sport that is still relevant and popular today. Lessons are for participants in 2nd through 8th grade. Lessons are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. January 8 through 31. Participants need to bring a tennis racket and wear tennis shoes to each class. Cost is $80 per participant
