The River Cities United Way (RCUW) invites everyone to its first annual Lumberjack Days celebration in the Hualapai Mountains outside Kingman. President and CEO Debbie Pennington said the organization has transitioned to fundraisers that involve community experience.

Pennington said the RCUW has established a luau event to capitalize upon lake, beach and water themes in Lake Havasu City and that the Hualapai Mountains appear perfect for lumberjack flavored fun. Industry athletes from Montana will compete in chopping, sawing, racing and log rolling events while there’s opportunity for citizen play as well.

Axe tossing, tug of war, cornhole and kids games are part of the public event mix, along with live music, vendors, food, beverages and a car show. Pennington said the organization is introducing the event, hoping that Lumberjacks Days evolves into a popular annual fundraiser.

Admission is $10 for Lumberjack Days, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18 at Recreation Area #1 at Hualapai Mountain Park.
