Man Arrested in Arson Investigation

On February 27, 2023, at approximately 11:01 p.m. officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Regency Dr. to assist the Lake Havasu City Fire Department with a residential fire.

During the course of a police investigation, it was found that sixty-nine-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Franklin Robertson intentionally started the fire within a bedroom of the residence, which subsequently caused the structure to become engulfed in flames. No occupants were reportedly injured as a result of this event.

Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations unit, in conjunction with the Lake Havasu City Fire Department, continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Robertson was arrested and charged with one count of arson to an occupied structure. During his initial court appearance, Robertson was held on a $25,000 cash only bond. He was subsequently transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
