Bullhead City, AZ – Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) is proud to announce five student winners for MEC’s 2026 Scholarship Program, awarding a total of $10,000 in MEC scholarships to support higher education. A record twenty-seven applications were received this year, reflecting increased participation from students in MEC’s service area attending a higher education institution this fall semester.

A panel of judges selected the following student winners:
• Conner Boggs, attending Mohave College
• Laisyc Conlogue, attending University of Southern California
• Savanah Furr, attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott
• Emily Osuna, attending Northern Arizona University
• Kimberly Osuna, attending Arizona State University

Each student received a $2,000 scholarship. Notably, Savanah Furr was previously awarded an MEC Scholarship in 2025. MEC encourages any students or adults pursuing higher education to apply next year, and previous recipients are welcome to reapply annually as long as they remain enrolled in an eligible program.

“Supporting education is one of the many ways Mohave Electric Cooperative invests in the future of the communities we serve,” said CEO Tyler Carlson. “We congratulate this year’s scholarship recipients on their hard work and dedication, and we’re honored to play a small part in helping them pursue their educational and career goals.”

Carlson envisioned a supplementary, MEC-awarded college scholarship and put into action an investment fund for member education programs. These funds are held separately from rates and are earmarked for community projects benefiting MEC members. This annual scholarship is in addition to the thousands of dollars provided through other MEC educational programs including Mohave College student scholarships, MEC’s Classroom Grants, Washington Youth Tour, Making Accidents Disappear elementary school magic show, SunWatts Renewable Energy Education Grant, and the partnership with Western Governor’s University.

Education, Training, and Information are among the seven Cooperative Principles upheld by MEC to support the future of even the youngest community members. Founded in 1946, Mohave Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit utility providing reliable, cost-effective power to 39,135 members, with 46,322 meters, and more than 1,637 miles of line spanning areas from Bullhead City to Topock on the west, Hualapai to Burro Creek to the south, and Nelson to the east.
