Milestone celebrations in 2026 will be epic. According to a recent report published by AAA, “Route 66 turns 100 years old this year, and according to a AAA survey, 41% of Americans plan to visit at least part of the “Mother Road” during the 2026 centennial celebration.” Many Route 66 centennial events will be linked to another milestone celebration, the 250th anniversary of the United States.
This makes 2026 the perfect time for discovering America with a road trip or two. And that also makes Kingman, Arizona a perfect road trip destination. Aside from it’s association with America’s most famous highway through a song about getting your kicks on Route 66, this historic desert crossroads is fast developing a reputation for its vibrant arts commmunity, as well as picturesque mountain bike and hiking trails, and dynamic events and attractions.
This list of upcoming events from Joyce Wiley of the Kingman Office of Tourism will provide added incentive for a road trip and for making Kingman a destination.
