BULLHEAD CITY –Mission Bank employees and customers have marked the twentieth anniversary of an annual school supply drive with a record number of bank-supplied items for students in the Bullhead City School District.

Two waves of donations included backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pens, pencils, glue, calculators, scissors and more.  Thousands of items were purchased for BCSD students by Mission Bank’s corporate offices.  And hundreds more were purchased by customers and employees at Mission Bank’s Bullhead City branch.

“Although we enjoy collecting and delivering the supplies, it’s Mission Bank’s customers and others in our community who deserve all the gratitude for their donations,” said Bullhead City branch manager Susie Barboa.

Last year, the program surpassed more than $150,000 in donated school supplies for the five communities the bank serves.  The bank’s drive includes supplies and cash contributions from customers and employees.  Mission Bank then augments the bulk purchases. Mission Bank founder, president and CEO Darrell Lautaret previously said that what started “as a little program” has expanded throughout the region.

“We have many students from pre-kindergarten through junior high who will benefit from these generous donations,” said BCSD Superintendent Carolyn Stewart. “It goes without saying that we can’t thank Mission Bank enough. This is another amazing community partnership.”
