Mohave County Election Results Update
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (November 5, 2020) –The Mohave County Elections Department will be processing, tabulating and posting results of valid ballots from this moment forward as soon as early ballots dropped off at voting polls and provisional ballots voted at the polls are available from the Recorders Office. Elections Director Allen Tempert says, “on Wednesday, 5,143 early ballots that were dropped off at the voting sites were sent to the Recorders Office for signature validation. These ballots were verified by the Recorders Office and the valid ballots are now in the Elections Department being prepared for tallying. These ballots will be tabulated and entered in the vote count no later than late Friday afternoon.”
Tempert also states, ”on Tuesday, 1.360 provisional ballots were voted at the polls. Those provisional ballots are then sent to the Recorders Office for validation. The Elections Office will process the validated provisional ballots as they are received and will include them in the daily vote count as they are tallied.”
Certain early and provisional ballots qualify for a five day work voter curing period. These ballots, although not in great numbers, have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, 11/10 to have their issues cured to be included in the ballot tally. Valid write-in candidates will be tallied starting Monday 11/9. Tempert says “it is anticipated that it will not take longer than a day to process and prepare to report them.”
The election is scheduled to be canvassed by the County Board of Supervisors Monday, November 16 at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting. Election results are not official until after the canvass challenge period. Tempert points out that “all ballots tabulated each day will be included in that day’s vote tally.” A link to the election results can be found on the Mohave County website, www.mohavecounty.us.
