KINGMAN–The deadline is fast approaching for those interested in entering the 2018 Mohave County Fair Pageant.  Application and entry form, along with entry fee, must be turned in by August 31 to the Mohave County Fair Association.

The pageant is open to ages 5 to 22.

Starkydz Showcase Productions is proud to host the Miss Mohave County Fair Pageant at this year’s fair. There will be four different age divisions: Young Miss–Age 5 to 8, Junior Miss–Age 9 to12, Teen Miss–Age 13 to 16, and Miss–Age 17 to 22. Contestants will all compete in evening gown and in onstage interview. There will also be an optional talent category for any contestant who wishes to vie for the talent title.

Brandee Proffit, owner of All Starz Academy in Kingman, has been named as this year’s Mohave County Fair Pageant Director. Proffit is also the National Director for Starkydz Showcase Pageant. She has been directing pageants on the West Coast and in the Midwest since 2007.

Profitt says that the purpose of the Mohave County Fair Pageant is two-fold.

First is the selection of queens to represent the Mohave County Fair, and to participate in other community activities throughout the year. Equally important is the opportunity for all the contestants to develop or enhance qualities of leadership, self-confidence, poise, and public speaking abilities.

The pageant will be held at the Mohave County Fairgrounds on September 14 at 5:00 p.m.

There will be a pageant stage set up outdoors near the midway. A queen will be crowned in each division along with three runner-ups. Division Queens win the title, trophy, crown, sash, flowers, & admission tickets for 4 plus parking pass. Three runner-ups per division win a trophy with all participants earning a ribbon.

In order to participate contestants must pre-register.

Applications and entry fees are due no later than August 31. The registration fee is $40 and is non-refundable. Applications with full pageant information may be downloaded atwww.starkydz.com or may be picked up at All Starz Academy, 2634 Airway Ave. in Kingman. Application & entry form along with entry fee may be turned in to the Mohave County Fair Office by mailing it to: Mohave County Fair Association, Attn: Fair Queen Pageant, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd., Kingman, AZ 86401; or dropped off at All Starz Academy, 2634 Airway Ave., in Kingman. Spots are filled in order applications are received and entry will close once a division is full.

There will be an optional pageant workshop and registration August 31 at All Starz Academy. The workshop will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Contestants are welcome to come and go anytime during that time frame.
