Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have arrested John Dee Page Jr., 46, of Kingman, for 1st Degree Murder in connection with the 2016 homicide investigation involving 22-year-old victim Matthew Johnson.

On December 14, 2016, Deputies responded to a call of a weapons offense where a male victim had been shot. Upon arrival, Deputies began life-saving measures until the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives then collected and processed evidence and interviewed potential witnesses at the scene. An autopsy revealed that the victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation continued; however, Detectives were initially unable to find sufficient evidence to support an arrest. Over time, evidence from the crime scene was resubmitted and subjects were re-interviewed by both Detectives and the Special Investigation Unit regarding the homicide. Through the course of the investigation, John Page Jr. was identified as the suspect in this incident and a felony arrest warrant was issued.

Page was contacted by Detectives and arrested on Tuesday (9/22) for 1st Degree Murder, and he was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman without incident.

This investigation is ongoing.
