WEAPONS OFFENSE – KINGMAN

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have submitted charges against Dylan Prescott Swint, 37, of Kingman, on three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, and one count of Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon – all felonies.

On Monday, August 17, in the evening, dispatch received a call regarding shots fired in the parking lot of a business in the 4500 block of Hualapai Mountain Rd. Witnesses stated they were outside the business when they heard gunshots and observed a male subject exiting a dark-colored SUV. The witness reported that the subject approached the doorway of the business, returned to his vehicle, and left the property. Detectives recovered one shell casing in the parking lot to confirm a weapon discharge.

Subsequently, detectives discovered three additional matching shell casings near the intersection of E Crumb Rd. and E Knob Hill Dr., indicating that the suspect had fired his weapon at a second location. Shortly thereafter, the suspect pulled his vehicle off the roadway along Hualapai Mountain Rd near Lazy YU. In one incident, a male victim approached the suspect’s vehicle to offer help, only to have the suspect point his weapon at him from inside his vehicle before driving away. In another instance, after stopping again, a vehicle containing a male victim, a female victim, and a child approached to offer assistance, and the suspect again pointed his handgun at them from his vehicle. The victims reported that the suspect’s vehicle then left the area on Hualapai Mountain Rd headed toward Kingman. Following the vehicle from a safe distance, witnesses lost sight of it at Eastern St. and Hualapai Mountain Rd.

At approximately 8:05 p.m., officers from the Kingman Police Department responded to a residence in Kingman after receiving a report of a male subject firing a weapon at the residence, followed shortly by a report of a second shooting at another residence. KPD officers located Swint during a high-risk traffic stop and took him into custody. The investigation is ongoing.

BOAT EXPLOSION – LAKE HAVASU

On Friday, August 21, deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety were alerted to a boat explosion near the Nautical Launch Ramp on Lake Havasu. Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Marine Enforcement Unit observed the incident and immediately rendered aid to the three occupants on board.

Upon arrival, MCSO deputies found a 28-foot Commander boat fully engulfed in flames near the Nautical Houseboat Rentals. Officers successfully kept the burning vessel away from other boats and nearby houseboats while working to extinguish the flames using their patrol boats. A 26‑year‑old female passenger and a 55‑year‑old female passenger, both from Ontario, California, were transported to a local hospital by ambulance before being flown to another hospital with serious burns. This incident remains under investigation.
