Mohave County Sherriff’s POP Annual Candy Crawl a HUGE Success
Mohave County Sherriff’s POP Annual Candy Crawl a HUGE Success Halloween night was anything but hollow. Once again, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office POP (Public Outreach Program) hosted the 3rd annual Candy Crawl. This event provides a safe and fun filled environment for families to enjoy the traditions of trick or treating on Halloween night. The annual event was on the verge of being cancelled this year due to the COVID pandemic and
constraints, however, the event organizers were bound and determined to offer a safe environment for families to get out and enjoy a night of fun and entertainment.
The response was astounding as an estimated 5,000 costumed attendees waited patiently in line to safely pass through the hand crafted portal and process through decorated trunks. DJ Burrows entertained the masses with ghoulish sounds and thematic music while the citizens, decorated in very imaginative and fantastic costumes, streamed through the customized portal.
This year, the Public Outreach Program altered their set up to accommodate COVID restrictions, adding a pumpkin carving contest and eliminating the games and interpersonal activities. The event spanned the whole parking lot of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office encompassing 18 trunk participants representing first responder organizations or their affiliates to show their support of the community and providing the safe environment that our community enhances and encourages. MCSO POP would like to extend their gratitude for the many sponsors that aided and assisted in putting on
this successful event. Without their support, our event wouldn’t have been as HUGE of a success as it was. Thank you to Sheriff Doug Schuster and the command staff at Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, DOT Foods, Walmart, Mohave County K9 Foundation, Praxair, Harry Traxler, Search and Rescue, and DJ Bill Burrows. MCSO POP looks forward to next year’s Annual Candy Crawl and we hope to see you then!
