Passport Scams & Fee Misrepresentation

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (February 6, 2024) — The Superior Clerk’s Office has experienced a significant increase in customers arriving under the false impression that their passport application fees have already been paid. This confusion arises from various websites offering these services, where fees collected are only for the completion of forms by the agency rather than the official passport application fees.

Christina Spurlock, Clerk of the Superior Court, emphasizes that the most reliable online resource for passport information and forms is Travel.State.Gov. It is important to note that all passport application fees must be paid directly to the US Department of State.

The Clerk’s Office provides access to both new application forms and renewal forms for passports, along with all necessary additional forms, free of charge. While appointments are not required, certified acceptance agents are available to review all new passport applications for completeness and accuracy. There is a $35.00 fee for each passport execution and acceptance.

Please be aware that the Clerk’s Office does not send out Renewal Applications. However, the office can review these applications at no cost before customers mail them out themselves.
