MOHAVE VALLEY–A motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Mohave Valley ignited a small brush fire near the Fort Mojave Calpine Power Station, off Courtwright Road.

The male driver of the motorcycle reportedly suffered a severe head laceration and was airlifted from the scene to a Las Vegas hospital, said Mohave Valley Fire Department Fire Chief Ted Martin.

Martin said the brush fire started as a result of the motorcycle accident and has since been contained. He added there is no threat to the Calpine power plant.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has reopened both directions of Courtwright Road and Mohave County Route One.
