Motorhome Fire
At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 1300 block of Kibbey Drive. The occupants reportedly tried to start their motorhome when it started on fire. The first arriving fire company reported a fully engulfed motorhome approximately 35’ from the residence. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 15 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely. The fire did not damage the house or a nearby casita. There were no reported injuries to the occupants
or firefighters. CERT responded to the fire to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 2-hours conducting salvage operations. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
