Northern Arizona University & AmeriCorps Seniors
Welcomes New Volunteer
LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -The Center for Service & Volunteerism at Northern Arizona University (NAU) is proud to welcome one of its newest volunteers to the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program. Penny Padilla-Miller has lived in Lake Havasu for 24 years. She’s a mother and grandmother. She enjoys woodworking, crafting, crocheting, reading and traveling. She is also a certified caregiver.
A global pandemic didn’t slow the need for service in our communities, and it’s not stopping volunteers from helping. “I am excited to have Penny as part of our team. She has so much to give to the children of Lake Havasu.” Says Heather Brassil, AmeriCorps Seniors Program Coordinator in Mohave County. AmeriCorps Seniors is a volunteer service organization of adults, age 55+. It is comprised of three programs: the Foster Grandparent Program, the RSVP Program, and the Senior Companion
