On Friday, December 29th, at about 7:40pm, the Kingman Police Department responded to a residence in the 1700blk of Golden Gate Avenue for a reported Domestic Violence.  While officers were arriving, Andrew Philip Romero, 39 of Kingman, exited the residence with a firearm, refused to drop it and pointed the firearm towards officers.  An officer fired their weapon striking Romero.  Medical aid was given on scene, prior to Romero being transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and ultimately being flown to Sunrise Medical Center, Las Vegas in critical condition.  Nobody else was injured during this incident.

The officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure for an officer involved shooting incident.  The Lake Havasu City Police Department is handling the investigation and all media inquiries should be directed to Sergeant Tom Gray at 928-855-1171 or grayt@lhcaz.gov
