BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – A power outage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday affected 8,500 Mohave Electric Cooperative members in Fort Mohave and Mohave Valley. The outage occurred initially at a transmission provider’s substation when a system protection device operated. The outage on the transmission provider line resulted in a breaker opening at an MEC substation.

Power was restored to 4,600 members four minutes later, and all power was restored at 8:12 p.m.

MEC members can report outages 24/7 by using the toll-free Outage Reporting Hotline (844) 632-2667, or by texting “outage” to 55050 for those using a cell phone listed on their MEC account.
