BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – July 1, 2024 – Bullhead City Police MAGNET (Mohave Area General Narcotic Enforcement Team) Detectives have been conducting an investigation of Thomas Raymond Morgan, 35, and Ashley Fay Nail, 33, for illegal drug sales in the Bullhead City/ Tri-State area. The couple also had several outstanding felony warrants for their arrest.
On Thursday, June 27 at about 7 a.m., Thomas Morgan and Ashley Nail reportedly fled from Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies in Mohave Valley after MCSO attempted a traffic stop on the wanted couple. At about 8:20 a.m., Bullhead City Police MAGNET detectives located their vehicle on Silver Creek Road and officers attempted another traffic stop. Morgan and Nail fled from police again, which resulted in a police pursuit on the Bullhead Parkway involving narcotic detectives, Bullhead City police officers and an Arizona DPS State Trooper. When Morgan drove through the intersection at Highway 95, he clipped one vehicle. No injuries were reported.
When they crossed the Laughlin Bridge, Morgan and Nail stopped the vehicle in the 1400 block of Casino Drive in Laughlin, NV, and fled from officers on foot. Morgan jumped into the Colorado River with a bag of drugs. He ultimately surrendered to officers and was taken into custody. A vacuum sealed package containing approximately 1,000 blue M-30 counterfeit fentanyl pills was recovered from the river.
Morgan was arrested for unlawful flight from law enforcement, as well as his prior warrants: transportation of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, aggravated assault with a weapon, and criminal damage. The case is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
The Bullhead City Police Department would like to thank all agencies who assisted in apprehending Thomas Morgan: Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
If anyone has any information on Ashley Nail’s whereabouts, please contact the Bullhead City Police Department at (928) 763-1999.
