Police Solve Two 2020 Armed Robberies

The Bullhead City Police Department arrested Austin Zachary Puig, 28, for committing two armed robberies in 2020.

On Wednesday, March 24 at 6:30 a.m., detectives served a search warrant in the 900 block of Ramar Road and arrested Puig. Through continuous investigation efforts, detectives identified Puig as the suspect in two armed robberies at the AM PM gas station. The first armed robbery occurred on February 24, 2020, where Puig was armed with what appeared to be a Taser. He fled with some cash and cigarettes. On October 16, 2020, Puig entered the same gas station store armed with a handgun and stole money.

On March 9, 2021, police were called for a report of a man (Puig) acting suspiciously inside Smith’s Food and Drug store. When officers attempted to contact Puig, he fled in his vehicle, driving recklessly and failed to pull over for police. The officer terminated the pursuit as Puig was speeding at a dangerous rate through a residential area and failed to stop for a red light and several stop signs.

Austin Puig was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on charges of robbery, armed robbery, unlawful flight from law enforcement, misconduct involving weapons/prohibited possessor and possession of narcotic drugs. During the search warrant, police found a loaded handgun, about 1 gram of heroin, and numerous drug paraphernalia items in his bedroom.
