PreOrders Underway For Local Children’s Book

MOHAVE COUNTY — The much anticipated children’s book spotlighting the life of Walter the Orphaned Donkey from Oatman is now taking preorders.

“Walter Finds A Home”, is penned by local award winning journalist Cat Smith as told by Walter’s owners, Jonathan “Brad” and Kelly Blake.

The children’s book takes us on the heartwarming journey as Walter goes from orphaned donkey to becoming an integral  part of the Blake’s family.

“We were shooting for a summer publication release, however, when COVID hit that stopped everything for about two months at the publishers,” said Anne Z. Smith, publishing coordinator of Armagon Press. “Now they are doing catch up and we are back on track for a fall release date near mid/end of October.”

“Walter Finds A Home” is the first edition in a series of ten that will be published over the course of the next few years, along with an animated film.

“The books will hopefully be released twice a year,” said Smith. “Book number two is currently in its rough draft stage. Spring and Fall distribution is what we are shooting for.”

The book is published by Archway Publishing an online publishing company that is a subsidiary of Simon & Shuster in New York.

To get on the preorder list, visit www.walterthewonderdonkey.com and click on  the “Get More Info” button. Fill out the form with your name and email address, along with the quantity of the books you’d like to order.
